I wished we could be assessed on the hard work we contributed throughout the whole project.  Some of us (other classmates)  might have an easy time doing the whole video and throughout the whole project process but some of us (others who really strive!!) really have a hard time thinking about how the outcome would be.  At first we got really lost, somehow something struck when doing the prototype.  We eventually finished the prototypes and the video!! That’s an unbelievable accomplishment!!!!

It is VERY VERY VERY HARD AND DAMN IT’S TROUBLESOME!!!! 

However, what’s got to do, has to be done.  We took at least 4 different days to complete the whole video.  I can’t imagine iMovie is actually very troublesome, I thought it’s something like The Windows Movie Maker……but NO!  It took us ages to trim the music.  Luckily Tania passed by and we asked for help.

The fun part about the project, the part that I liked is during brainstorming session.  During brainstorming sessions, we came up with many goofy and unrealistic ideas which makes it fun.  With four people in a group, four brains, we think about things quite differently.  

If I would do something differently about the project, I would try to really shoot the process of the photo makeup booth.  It would be a blast if  we can really produce a video like that.  Too bad, we don’t really have much time.  I pretty liked our final video outcome!!

Yay!! Finished it at last!!!

I guess it would only be a hit for a small amount of time.  Actually everything gets detracted when new things come up.  If eventually another higher technological photo makeup booth appears, the one we did might be detracted.  

The design should be effective.  It is actually very easy to control the touchscreen.  Instructions are there to teach and guide the users.   As nowadays everything became tecnologicalised, touchscreen is the most up to date technology in the meantime.  Someday, something more advanced than touchscreen might be invented.  

For now, let’s enjoy the fun of touchscreen!!!

I watched it online because I DON’T HAVE A TV AT HOME!!!! (which is a sad thing….)

I never knew that this show is actually hilarious and it really makes sense.  There are some crappy talk shows where the hosts talks crap the whole way through the show and no point made during the whole conversation. Wil Anderson definitely has an incredible sense of humour.

The ads shown on the show are based on lamb, lamb roast….which is peculiar topic but it is funny.  The first ad shown where there are two people running in the field during sunset romantically and holding lamb cutlets in their hands.  That’s weird…..I mean, the ad would give a strong impression to the public but I personally don’t like that ad.  It is unexpected but the scene and the lamb roast just seems wrong.

I’ve also watched the bottom video called ‘God I Hate That Ad’. Some of the ads really can’t make it but it was very funny.  I was laughing hysterically!!! Haha!!

I’m getting to love this show!!

I was wondering, does other groups have to same situation as us? I browsed through some other groups’ prototype, some were really well done.  I wonder if they have problem stuggling for the outcomes of the prototype.  

While me and my group were working on the prototype, I think that if there is a such photo booth created, people might actually feel convenient having makeup masks in their daily life basis.  This might actually work! It might also be a selling product!!!! I was hoping in could be productive then all the credits would go to us!!! Hahaha….daydreaming…………!!!

Our prototype was tested on mostly guys during the user testing session, they seem to understand it.  So, I doubt girls wouldn’t understand it since it’s a girl thing.  Or maybe some of them so not.  Depends. I really liked the outcome of the prototype we did (although there’s a lot of refinements that are needed).  The images are sharp and catchy.  So if I were the user or the public, I would stop and have a glance on the prototype where the images very eye-catchy.

It was a nervous day, got stomach cramps before class.

I did the user testing for the first part, visited S.M.A.R.T Design.  Their concept idea’s interesting, giving a space for creative and non-creative people.  Giving out an art space for the public.  This idea is one fun event /thing to do!!! However, their paper prototype missed out on some steps when we were testing it.  It was fun though!!

After doing the testing, my group is still doing the testing to users.  They seemed really interested in our protoype.  As they were chatting through, I went to check out some other group’s protoype.  Some of them did a very good job on the prototype. I didn’t get to check out all of the groups but most of their prototype looks interesting!!

Our prototype testing last for quite a long time as the next users came in late for oue testing part. So, Tania came and gave us some feedback.  We realize we’ve got some things that we missed out and didn’t think of. She gave us very useful feedback to improve on our prototype. 

Coincidencially, all users that tested on our prototype are all guys!!! No girls!! But they seemed interested on our makeup prototype.

I guess next is the final development….VIDEO!!!!

It’s getting on mu nerves!!

There are problems…BIG problems!!!

I can’t really figure out how would the prototype work.  We need buttons in order to click it through.  If we really did all the buttons by going forward and backward, I may need to do hundreds of pages.  Another thing is would the final outcome be something that would really work? Is it relevant?

Okay…everything is under stress!!!

I took quite some time to understand how prototype works. 

However, we as a group decided on doing digital protype.  I suggested on paper prototype but my groupmates feel that paper prototyping takes up a lot of time. So we decided to stick onto our digital prototype.

We got lost at first by deciding on how are we going to present the makeup idea as a prototype. An application? An online website?

We finally got through it by having our interaction design in a booth. Photo booth.

This is how the booth works.

First, there is a picture taken for the user.  The photo would be on the touch screen screen.  There are some makeup products to be chosen from.  From eyeshadow to blusher to lipstick.  The chosen colour by the user would be identified by this booth (technically) and shades of the chosen colour would be shown on the screen.  These shades of colour would suit the user better.  After every part of the makeup is chosen, the final outcome of the product will be a stick-on makeup mask.

I know it sounds funny but hey…it doesn’t have to be realistic…right? Anyway, the makeup mask will be stick onto the face, then peeled off.

Voila! The makeup is done!!!  

How’s that!!

The most interesting part of doing the research is creating a persona and the persona’s scenario. It’s like story-telling!! Personas are the one thing you would do it many times.  I did a few of them and chose the best one. 

Enjoyed it heaps!!

Giving consultations for women who aren’t confident on choosing beauty products.

This groupwork is a different experience as this is my first time doing an assignment about interaction design. This assignment’s target audience would be women whom do not have time to doll up and are not courageous enough to explore different brands or different make-up styles. 

If I were the user/target audience,  I am very happy that there is such service.  However, I would be very self-cautious about really getting consultations from a person that I do not know of.  There will still be a wall between the consultant and me as I may not get to see the consultant face to face asking about my problems of make-up.  A good way of doing the consultation is maybe through a webcam.  This would give me as a user a safer point to be purchasing or seeking for consultations in the future. 

Products from reliable company or reliable brands would also be a good way of interacting to users as some brands have their fame and reliable spokespersons.  I would be worried if the products that is given after purchased will turn out being another non-brand product.  So, I would actually like to see the real product through the webcam to make sure that that is the brand I want.
